on. After a few moments, will display one (or more) error codes
(note: the first code is a card self test, see manual for
details)
-
Simply look the
code up in the manual under the correct BIOS and
you'll know exactly why the pc hardware isn't booting!
LED DISPLAYS -
4 LED's to monitor power supply
Another 4 LED's monitor high and low clock signals and high and low oscillator signals, making it easy to determine synchronous operation. LEDs are on separate circuits, making it easier to spot the difference between clock chip and crystal failures.
LED to monitor the Reset signal. This allows a reset to be seen during POST, making it easy to spot a possible short.
2 LED's monitor I/O read and I/O write, distinguishing between read and write failures. Also monitored are Memory read/write to distinguish between address line failures and memory chip failures. This feature is especially beneficial when working with BIOS's that don't emit POST codes, (yes, there are still a few around).
1 ALE LED monitor ensures proper CPU/DMA operation.
COMPACT DESIGN: Less bulky than other PCI/IS combo POST cards, and helps to prevent the ISA portion from being plugged in backwards
Monitors all PCI functions such as Initiator Ready, Frame, and Device Select etc.
Has three hexadecimal displays that read out Bios POST codes as described in the manual. One is mounted on each side of the card for easy viewing from either side, the third is attached by a ribbon cable for remote viewing outside the case.
MULTIPLE FAULT DETECTION: Will not stop at the first fault it finds but continues until all faults have been identified.
CYCLING BUTTONS: 'cycle' the displays back and forward through multiple fault codes.
MANUAL: The comprehensive manual covers POST procedures for all major Bios manufacturers such as; AMI, AWARD, PHOENIX etc. Simply look up the Bios POST code test failure code under the relevant Bios version to find a description of the exact chip or device that caused that test to fail.
