The increase in skin dryness among the population is believed to be due to the higher amount of pollutants in the air, the prevalence of the dry air from office air conditioners and the increase in sunny holidays. Of course, age itself tends to lead to dry skin, as does harsh weather conditions.

Skin Drench™ locks water into the skin by connecting microscopic 'water-sponge-molecules' to skin binding sites rather than just temporarily dampening cells, as ordinary moisturisers do.

Unlike other moisture balance products, Skin Drench does not have a brief moisturising effect and does not inhibit the synthesis of lipid forming enzymes. In fact, Skin Drench™ actives are so effective, the binding is only released by the natural shedding of skin cells and not merely by washing.

Skin Drench performs very well at low humidities compared to known moisturising agents, but where it really excels is under difficult conditions, i.e. relative humidities of 20-50% and higher. Significantly, the moisturisation curve very closely parallels that of a natural skin carbohydrate complex.

Not surprising, since Skin Drench mimics the skin's own carbohydrate complex so closely. It also moisturises more effectively for longer periods: in fact, it outperforms a host of occlusive barriers in comparative testing. So, with Skin Drench, moisture stays in the skin long after traditional moisturisers flash off.
